    Re: tubes and cabinets

First take the back of the twin cabinet off and look at what kind of tubes are there. Do you need to replace power tubes or pre-amp tubes or both? If you are replacing power tubes make sure you replace all of them and make sure the tubes are biased properly.

On the back of your head when you get it, there should be two 1/4" jacks marked "loudspeaker outputs" or "speaker jacks". Put a 1/4" SPEAKER cable, not an instrument cable into either one of these jacks and into your speaker cabinet.

there should be some numbers and/or letters around the plastic ring on the bottom of the tubes before the metal prongs (power tubes only) these should be the ratings of the tubes. just make sure you buy the same rated tubes from the same manufacturer, and stick them in. you shouldn't need to replace your pre amp tubes unless they become microphonic. (really noisy and lots of feedback - more than normal)
