• Witchdoctor and my Soldano clips

Here are some clips of the Witchdoctor I just got from Voodoo amps - it's built in a Fender Champ chassis.

And, some different clips of my 'atomic 6' Champ - a Soldano atomic 16 preamp slightly modded and shoehorned in a slightly modded Champ power section.

Little pseudo-Beck thing, with the WitchDoctor:

Here's a quick solo clip of the WD with the preamp cranked, master fairly low:

And one of the same solo but preamp at '4' and master at '6':

How about my soldano-champ, same solo, preamp cranked, master low:

And some Soldano/Champ clips:

I need to refine the ol' soldano-champ: It has a NICE thick tone, but it farts out a bit on the low end. Time to change the cathode cap values...

The WitchDoctor is a killer little amp, and really scoops the mids out. Trace installed mid and bass pull boosts, and his eq is VERY effective - it has about twice the effect as the one on my modded amp, so that's another place I want to effect some change.

It really was interesting messing with two amps that are at least cousins. I just need to get the soldano to grow up a bit or the witchdoctor will be kicking sand in his face for years.

Damn Pete those sound killer! I've been debating getting a nice little combo practice amp for something I can plug into quick or take around easily. I may have to think about getting myself one of those.

i like the sound of the first clip (the one that didn't work at first) and the slochamp best. the slochamp seemed to have this wierd delayring kind of thing going on to me, maybe its my cheap comp speakers and soundcard, but it almost sounded like a second track with a 10 or 20 ms delay all in the high end. ????
anyway, i'm looking for a good little combo that i can record a rock band with at low volume. any suggestions - was thinking about a regular render champ.
