• My AC-30 arrived

My AC-30 with Top Boost and Blue Dogs came in today.

Well I got her home and wow it's heavy. I played for about 2 hours before my Wife threw her slipper at me and all I can say is WOW .

....I am very impresed with the tonal abilitys of this Amp. I have an effects rack with lots of wierd stuff and it sounds totaly different through the AC-30 far better my 5150 Monster on a plate or my JCM 800 this is of course is only my opinion. I am running stereo with a a Tube Amp that I rebuilt and it is unreal. I was going places if you know what I mean of course with out any mood modifying substance. I can't wait to Mic up this Amp and lay down some tracks. I only played my SG tonight and can only imagine what my other girls will sound like !

Here are some Pics

What kind of stuff do you play? Just curious cuz I usually associate Vox with the likes of U2 and such.

Well Brian May had a wall of them on Stage, Lenny Kravitz also has a wall, Tom Petty plays exclusivley with these and the list goes on. These Amps are very uniquie and untill you own one or can play loud through someone's who know how to set it up it would be hard to understand what these Amps can do. You have to play with the patching on the inputs and experiment with the controls and you will get awsome tone and punch. This Amp has no overdrive or boost you have to use a rig and when you do WOW!!! This is just my H.O. on what I like

Try and check one out where you can take it for a good test drive and bring you favorite outboard gear.

As far as what I play Blues, Rock, Classic Rock, Metal, Funk, Alternative and the Radio

I write alot of my own stuff now and record in my home studio. I do still go out to Jams and play the odd Club with friends.

I used to think that as well untill I was shown a few secrets about this Amp with regards to jumpers between normal and Brilliant Channel. If you are trying to get it to distort natuarly then use you must play it very loud but like I said what you do with this Amp is plug your Rig in and go.

cool amp dude.. I've always wanted one but they're to pricey unless I give up groceries for a bit.
I always wanted to do the three tape delay thing that Brian had done.. but nowadays, you can just buy a Korg SSD 2000 or similar to get that multi layered counterpoint stuff.
I wonder how the digital Vox stuff sounds.

Yeah it is $$ but I don't need a a stack anymore. I was looking for an Amp I could use in my Studio and do Clubs with and have good sound thats why I choose this. For what I paid you could get a nice 100 watt Tube Marshall with 2 4x12 Cabs.... What you say for a 30 watt combo eeeek!!!

It's not for everybody. You have to give yourself a proper test drive on one of these to add to your Amp experinces, it is very unique and nothin out there sounds like it

I have heard the Digital VOX stuff and wasn't impresed. The only thing I would buy from VOX is this Amp in this configuration

Cool! Glad to see Marshall has done justice to that amplifier. You do know that Marshall owns VOX, Korg, and Parker Fly guitars right?

Yes which I feel is a good thing with regards to service this was always a problem with VOX in the past. You were on your own once the sale was made. The design remains true to form Marshall has done them Verbatim with no apparent changes.

Yeah, I remember hearing VOX had pretty much no customer service. Glad to hear Marshall still has great service, though.
About 6 years ago or so my old Valvestate channel/chorus footswitch crapped out. The woman I spoke to was great and had me send it back and she sent me a new one. They sent me the wrong one for channel/reverb, they apologized and sent me the right one. Marshall actually care about their customers.
