Revoiced the tone stack, got it thicker sounding and cut back on the high-end that was killing me. Still get a little runaway feedback at full volume with the preamp dimed, but some of that is to be expected... hell, ever read a mesa boogie manual? Happens to them all the time!
To recap, it's a fender champ that I gutted and rewired. put a soldano atomic 16 preamp in it, now called the atomic 6. Has a single 6V6 tube for a power amp, and uses a tube rectifer, so it sags a bit - check out around 45 seconds into the 'solo' clip, where I just slam into the strings - you can hear the power amp start to give a little, and the whole thing sag on the attack. It was about 1/2 way up and really pissing my wife off.
FYI, still looking for project amps... check my classified ad if you have one layin' about. Thanks!
Pete
