Line 6 pod pro's midi controlling!

I would like to connect an tube preamp with line 6 pod pro through midi conection.
And am not sure how!

The problem is that line6 has an external output for pedals undependant of midi controls.

Anyone expirienced similar problems?
Or has the know/how to do it?

The Line6 should have a MIDI Out/Thru port and the preamp will have to have a MIDI In port. OR you could use the preamp to control the Line6 via MIDI by connecting the preamp's MIDI Out/Thru to the Line6's MIDI In, though the MIDI controller pedal will have to be connected to the preamp, not the Line6.
