I picked up a quad of Groove Tubes EL-34, #3's and stuck them in my Mesa triple channel dual recto. WOW this thing sounds totally different. Dive's sound so thick and vibrant now. It really changed the voicing on the amp, completely.
I would have ordered tubes from the tube store, but when I make my mind up to do something I get hit with a severe case of impatience. The local music store had Groove Tubes, and a #3 is apparently a very hot tube for Groove Tubes. Don't know what that translates to in any real world metric but musically this is a really cool change to this amp.
