If you talk about the Rectifier Recording Preamp, there was a member here, quite some time ago, who posted some sound samples. I wasn't really impressed, lead sound was kinda ok but the rhythm was way too buzzy. Sorry to say but a POD does a much better job direct recorded. So if you look at it because of the direct recording feature i would look elsewhere.

I would buy a used Rectifier, for the price get a power amp section for free and either look for a Palmer Speaker emulation or buy a nice mic with a nice mic preamp before i would think about the Rectifier recording preamp.
