  • EQ stuff

In another thread a poster asked about EQ tweaking. Here is frequency chart that may be of some help. It is better to learn which frequency's do what to your tone as opposed to relying on generic words to explain. That way you can say to your soundman "Hey, gimme more 2K".

    JOHN

    Range Positive Correlation Negative Correlation
20 Hz - 200 Hz Bottom, Depth Boomy
200 Hz - 500 Hz Warmth, Dark Muddy
500 Hz - 1.5 kHz Definition Honk or Nasal
    1.5 kHz - 4 kHz Aticulation/Snap/Presence Strident
    4 kHz - 10 kHz Bright/ Higher presence Screechy/Thin
    10 kHz - 20 kHz Sheen/Transparent Thin

That's cool. This might be a good one to turn into a "Sticky Topic". Thanks Nine.
