• BOSS ME-50

Has anyone tried this? I have been getting pissed with my DSP 2024P and 1010 foot controller. The delay, reverb and modulation sounds are great but, the distortions are useless (to me). The delay between patches is the biggest turn off.

I took one of these ME-50's home last night and the thing is perfect for my needs. I like the set up, you just set you effects and/or tone and save it to a patch, tweak the knobs again and make 30 different patches. You can make a rhythm tone, save it then tweak that tone for a lead, say fatten it up boost the level add delay/chorus and save to the next patch without having to start from scratch and all the parameters are right there like a big stomp box. You can even add on external switches to trigger up/down bank or turn on/off either tone modify or comp/sustainer.

Anyone else use one of these?

I tried one in Sam Ash and really liked it. I just don't have the $299.99 to put into one right now. To many other things I need more like tubes and pickups. If I had the money I would get one.

Yeah I still have the thing at home. (Haven't bought it yet). I like the simplicity of it and the durability of the Boss stuff (this is a total tank)! I have tried different things like running it through my effect loops and using the amps gain ch but this sucker is obviously made for the front end only! I just though the delay and modulation effects would sound a bit better in the loop but it's not so. I also wanted to use the amps gain with a little boost from one of the OD settings but I haven't found anything I like running it that way. I do like a couple of the distortions and they will work well for the live situations.

I won the Boss ME-33, I think there pretty similar. I really like mine I can get tons of effects, tweak them to my liking, even add diff amps, mine also has a phase trainer. Definately worth the 300$.

Well I bought it. I really like the simplicity and the tone was good enough...but then! Just after talking to Steve about the apparent sacrifice to the tone sucking Gods I go back and read a bit more, looking at the factory patches and I see the Comp/sustainer turned off for all the lead tones (I figured it would be better to have the sustain on) Anyhow I turn it right off and WOW! I got the tube amp feel back! So I went and did the same for the rhythm patch I made, (turning off the compression) and it sounds great! It didn't loose any tightness like I thought it would. The comp/sus does work well with the Acc simulator for clean though.

          Thanx guys!
