• Digitech IPS33?

Ok, looking for a good Harmonizer, but not ready to part with $2K for a used Eventide
What about the IPS33B from Digitech - anyone here use one? How good is it for real-world applications? They go kinda cheap on Ebay, so I'm assuming one of two things - Eventide's are winning the popularity contest and Digitech's are sleepers or the Digitech is just a rack-mounted joke

yes, ive used on for years (it's the only effects processor i use)...just make sure you're completely in tune and it sounds ok...the eventide is a litlle more transparent but the ips33b works fine...btw stay AWAY from the original ips33, it's junk...only get a 33 b, also they re-did it after a couple of years and renamed it dhp (digital harmony pprocessor) 33...it's good as well...but theres no substitute for a 2nd guitar player or track...d.m.

NewC,

What a timely thread.

Last week, my trusty IPS-33B died and I had to pull it out of my rack. I looked at Eventide prices on eBay and despaired. Then, I stumbled across an auction for a Rocktron Intellipitch. (There were two on the bay this week...one is now in my possesion.)

I just installed it in my rack today, and started goofing around with it--and boy am I glad my IPS-33B gave up the ghost! This thing has all the functions of the Intelliverb Online plus solid two voice intelligent harmonies. The harmonizer tracks a distorted signal much better than the Digitech did.

The best, though, was yet to come. I had no idea that the Intelliverb effects processing was so much better than the built in Voodu Valve effects. The chorus, delays and reverbs just kick the Voodu's ass all over the planet. That was a complete windfall.
