  • J-Station (or equivalent) to a PA

A friend's band is looking for a fill-in bassist, and asked me if I'm interested, but my old Randall 60W combo is at death's door, and of course the departing bassist will be taking his rig with him. I've used a J-Station to record bass tracks before, and the models sound quite good to me, but would it be possible to run it direct to a PA without additional hardware?

Absolutely. It will work fine. The only downside is without a stage amp you will have a tough time hearing yourself on stage unless you have nice monitors.

Yes. And IMHO, it sounds good (with my gear, anyway - anything that can make my old OLD Fender musicmaster bass sound good is a winner in my book).

Some turn cabinet emulation off, I leave it on. Too thin through our PA without it, for my tastes.
