I own one and it sounds great.
I used to own a Fish and compared it to Triple Giant side by side with VHT 2150 and Mesa 4x12 Rect.
In my opinion,Triple Giant has a lot more gain(3rd Ch has too much gain like 5150 or Mesa rect) and easier to operate and sounds as good as fish.
I have one for sell for $450 with non original footswitch.

I am selling it because I am basically selling most of my stuff.
Talking about thin sound,I don't think so.
