If the guy from Shadows Fall was overdiving a Mode 4, wouldn't it sound like COMPLETE ass? I thought that you weren't supposed to overdrive a solid state input.

Isn't it a tube preamp though, like the other Valvestates? If you slam a tube preamp's input it's more musical than slamming a solid state preamp.
Dunno about the Mode 4 specifically; I'm not interested in even trying one after the comments here, and in my old age I don't buy new anymore, unless it's so much better than anything that's come before that I can't wait a couple years to get it half off.

Yeah, I'm cheap. Most stuff ain't all the manufacturer says it is either, and I'd rather let someone else find out what the new thing's bugs are. I'll buy it from that guy when he's got the 2nd upgrade installed and is selling to buy
yet the NEXT new/best thing.
