    Re: POD XT. any comments?

For my money, the Boss GT-6 was the way to go. Definitely not a toy, the layout rocks, and the sounds are like butter.

You get Modeling and Effects pedals all in one.

    Just an opinion.

Vetta has tons more options even if you only use one of the amps, and the amps sound better... I had an XT here at the same time as my Vetta I, and the vetta sounded better on the same emulations, especially the AC30, which sounds TERRIBLE on a XT.

FYI, the Vetta II is a whole new ball game, and sounds better than the Vetta I which sounds better than the XT. Just my opinion, but I owned all the gear mentioned here.

        Re: POD XT. any comments?

The main reason there may be sound differances is because the Pod XT is lacking the power amp and speakers designed to go with it as in the Vetta. From what the Line 6 product specailist told me they are exactly the same. Just in a differnt format to accomodate the size. The main differnce would be the Celestions designed for the Vetta. Running the XT thru a differant power amp and cabinet makes a huge differance.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I compared the XT to my Vetta on the direct outs only... I can't comment on what the Line 6 product specialist said, just on my experiences of owning the gear and doing A/B tests. I still say the XT doesn't sound as good as the Vetta on the direct outs even if you just run em dry and the same mics and everything.

Try cranking the AC30 on the XT - it sounds like an ass hat. The Vetta sounds better to my ears. That's just one example.
