  • Mesa V-Twin Preamp

    Hey all,
I picked up a Tubeworks MV962 the other day I'm looking for a preamp to use with it. Anyone here used the rackmount V-twin? What did you think? I also thought i read there are two or three revisions of these things. Is that so? Which one is the one to go after.
    Thanks

The two I played didn't impress me much. And a electrical engineer friend who is all about tone ALA Stevie ray etc, didn't like his either. He modded it heavily and still got rid of it. We thought that the Marshall "Guvnor" (sp?) pedal actually sounded better for what the V twin was trying to sound like.

Never know though, it might do what you want.
