  • modeling consoles. pod, j-station...what else?

I think I'm going to find one of these amp modelers for some direct recording. Does anybody have some suggestions as to which one will give me the most bang for the buck?

As lon gas it has a few high-gain models that sound semi decent.

Money is a factor. THe POD XT is seriously out o fmy price range especially new. What models are out there?

My friend has a Behringer V-Amp, I have a POD 2.0. His V-Amp has great high gain tones for what it is, my POD I think has better cleans and more "classic" tones I guess you could say...like overdriven Marshalls, etc.

The Vamp-2 by Behringer is only about $139. With some "fiddling" you can get some good sounds out of it.

It seems pretty good for high gain tones and has decent cleans.

I am VERY happy with my DigiTech RP300. Tried the V-Amp, considered the POD XT but went with this instead.

Mucho bang for the buck plus built in footswitches (limited usefulness), expression pedal (very nice) and rhythm machine.
