best powr amp for under 450 dollars?

I'm looking fo r a Tube power amp to compliment my GP 1000. Willman put an MXR 10 band EQ between it and his MEsa 50/50 and he claims it really helped "metal" out the tone. I'll see for myself next weekend, "thanksgiving weekend"

what are some Tube Power amps I should consider getting? In the given price range? I need ears bleeding loud capabilities here.

the mesa 20/20 is the best sounding one for that price range.

i personnaly think it sounds better than both the 50/50 and the 2:90. as well as most other power amps out there due to its EL84 tubes.

If you need something louder than the Mesa 20/20 (which is quite the cool amp). There are also the old Peavey line of 50/50 100/100 6L6 powered power amps. They are good sounding, and are quite reasonably priced for less that what you are asking about. Pretty heavy though.

Not real popular, but well made and roadworthy for sure. They would likely be my choice amp for a low budget stage rig.

I agree whole heartedly with dreamland rebel The Mesa 20/20 is plenty loud and sounds great plenty of stage volume. For really big rooms or venues your going to run through the PA any way. My 20/20 keeps up with my other guitarists 5150 with no problem it may even be louder we don't really know cause we havn't been able to run either of them past 9 or 10:00 on the dial which is about 3 or 4, without people complaining (you know how club owner/managers are!)
You can get them used for around $400.00 but new they go for $600.00 [img]graemlins/headbang.gif[/img]

Carvin T-100 is a great choice. The Peavey 50-50 and the 60-60 are also great choices.
