Is parametric a type of eq, if so whats the diff and what other types of eq's are there??

Parametric is a type of EQ. and no the GE7 is a graphic EQ. A graphic EQ boosts or cuts a particular frequency by sliding the fader up or down. A parametric EQ is a set of knobs with frequency ranges per knob. More selctable per section and also allows youto use other octives of that frequency in the boost or cut. Its a more desirable type of EQing. Its a much rounder sounding EQ. Graphics are great for dialing out hiss in studios or live performances or taking the rumbling farting out of a bass tone. They can be used together or seperatly.
