thanks man, i'm checking it out right now. i'm not having good results though. echoes, clipping, lots of noise. i'm thinking it doesn't like my sound card.

I had these troubles too,but I have been able to solve the problems.If you have a sound blaster or sb compatible try these drivers http://kxproject.lugosoft.com/index.php?skip=1 .In any case you have to adjust settings (buffer size etc) for good performance.Good luck!

standalone real time software amp sim or emulator?

is there any kind of amp standalone sim/emulator software that runs on a windows PC. line 6 makes amp farm but it requires protools, then there's amplitube but it's a plugin only and playback is in unprocessed mode only.
i'm looking for something which will capture the sound card and play back through my PC speaks for practice and hashing stuff out without killing the neighbors.

Yeah there is. Let me try to find it again. Some guy developed it and has a free version. He keeps sending me updates but I got rid of it. It need some work for the dirty sounds , but it could be cool.

i don't use a sound blaster which seems to be the problem. the software requires direct x drivers which my card doesn't support it uses ASIO drivers.
if i use revalver live as a plug in for cool edit it seems to work well enough but that put's me back to square one, it's not live.
what is it with stupid line 6, amp farm only works with protools, and to use protools you need protools hardware. GAG!! [img]graemlins/evilimages/icons/tongue.gif[/img]
