How much do they cost? I love little weird things like that! a one-half watt amp can't possibly be that expensive!

Up at the top of this page there is a link entitled "Dealers". In there you will find a link to Twisteramps. These are a similiar idea built single handidly buy Our Own Pete Turley.
Take a look at those and listen to the links before throwing money at a Zvex.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You would think, right? If I remember correctly, the list is over $400.

Seriously.

Could be wrong.

No Keith, you Sir, are correct. These things are about $420 apiece.

I e-mailed Zachary Vex (I wonder if there's a Mrs. and Mr. Vex out there ) shortly after my first post. I got a quick reply,

quote:
"twin town guitars in minneapolis (621-822-3334 11-7 M-F central time
zone) sells them for about $400."
end quote.

A bit expensive for the size IMO, but pretty cool nevertheless...maybe one day when I have $$$ surplus!

I played one breifly once. Didn't impress me much. There's not a lot of gain in one of those. Could get some classic rock type sounds. Might have done a little more with an overdrive pedal. Can't remember much about the clean. The store that had said he'd take $350 for it.

woah, that looks cool!

I didn't quite get it though, could you just plug your guitar directly into it and into a speaker cabinet, or did it require a pre-amp?

anyway, I'd like to get my hands on one of those

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">No pre-amp required. It just replaces your amp head.

I read a review maybe six months ago in Guitar Player (I think). If I remember correctly, they said it was plenty loud to drive a 4x12. I think they liked it all around, too, but it is kinda expensive for its size!
