  • Cellphone interference!

You know when you phone rings (some phones) and its beside a clock radio, car radio, computer speakers, and you get the loud buzzing from the speakers? Is it possible that it could have a bad effect on a tube amp?? I ask because all the other shit in my house is solid state, and when it rings beside my amp, its louder than everything else??

got the same thing happening, got a jmp-1 preamp and a peavey classic 50/50 poweramp. I got the bad habit of leaving my cellphone on my rack when rehearsing... when I got a message or a call it reacts like any radio/cpu/etc...

Yeah, they'll do that. I wouldn't worry about it hurtin anything at all. It's just inducing some noise into the amp when it rings. Seems they start making electronic stuff they are near humm right before it starts ringing when the cell site activates it into ring mode...
