I am considering purchasing the Vox Tonelab Amp Modeler, I have read many stellar reviews. Just wondering if anyone has had the opportunity to try one and if so, what did you think of it?
I had one, and I thought the clean sounds were beautiful. Very Tube like, with real crisp attack. But..
The distortion were thin, harsh and brittle. Kind of like the Fender cyber deluxe, with an icepick on top, and no way to get rid of them.
And to make matters worse, I could not get rid of the Spanish radio station blaring through my monitors. I mean LOUD cuban radio!
I really wanted to like it, but alas, back it went. I now use a Metal Zone pedal through a Fender deluxe reverb, and I couldnt be happier. If I want more processing, I run my GNX-2 through my pc and out to monitors.
