I like the Dunlop Crybaby Wah....one can be had for low money on Ebay. And if you want to upgrade it later, you can buy a wah upgrade like to one on www.rogermayerusa.com Just my 2 cents.

Crybaby's sound weak to me. I was sick of mine sounding so lame, so off came the back panel and in went a few new caps and resistors. It sounds a lot better, but I wouldn't bother with buying one. I think I'd go with the Vox if I was getting a new wah.

Here's my mini-review of my Bad Horsie II when I first bought it:

I bought it for its cool switchless feature. Whether or not you like the tone is entirely subjective. I personally think it's a wonderful pedal.

I fuckin hate wah wah pedals! Stupidest, most annoying devices ever created!

Having said that, you can't go wrong with a Dunlop Crybaby. I own a standard crybaby and use it quite regularly. Never really had a problem with it.

I got tired of the harsh highs of mine, so I added a knob on the side that lets me sweep the high frequency - then about a year later Dunlop introduces the "Q" knobbed model

The Bad Horsie II has a footswitch-activated Contour knob... not sure what kind of frequencies it's sweeping, and it's not too dramatic in its ability, and it adds a little hiss to the signal too...

I knew I should have bought the original Bad Horsie for a cheaper price. Oh well... maybe I'll find a use one day for that Contour feature.

I have the Vox one. I didn't choose it, someone gave it to me, but I honestly think it's a great unit.

I have a VOX limited edition wah pedal, which I think rocks! owned it for probably 10 years now...haven't used it the last couple of years though, probably kirk hamster's fault!
anyway I used it for covering some RATM material and it served me great, solid build quality too.
