Genz-Bens El-Diablo

Its tax time and Im in the market for a new sound and was wondering if any of you guitar gurus have ever tried one of these out?

Dont know much about them and was just looking for some info.

According to J.G. they are highlighted in the March issue of guitar player mag.I wouldn't trust any reviews in any mag. too much but they could be a good source of basic info.
Racer X ....Ron you heard one at NAAM with Mark C.
any comments or observations?

I talked to Ron and got his opinion, anybody else got any info on these? I'm seriously looking into a head and 2 2x12 cabs.

They've got one of those at a music store I live near. I jammed on it for a little while, and it seemed like a cool amp. It didn't really blow Me away, but it all depends on what You like. It has a great 'modern' type tone to it. I prefer a more classic gain sound.

form the website you posted it looks like a pretty good amp. the specs and options seem nice and versitile. but i haven't ever tried one so i couldn't say for sure.

You're right, I really didn't have time to thoroughly test it. This was just My first impression about the amp. I'm gonna go down there tomorrow and jack with it some more to see what I can get.

This is definitely a resurrected post, but I tried one of these today, and I have been looking for an all tube amp to go with my HD147, and I think this thing rules. She may be coming home with me tomorrow if I dont find any negative vibe.

Anyone else try one since this post? How about $1099, good price?

could you please summarize your experiences/opinions on the El Diablo head?? a lot of PM'ing and not a lot of posting going on here! [img]graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
for me, it's between the engl ritchie blackmore and the gb diablo. haven't tried the diablo...
