I can tell you that Duncan Live Wire pickups will knock your balls off. But it may be too hot for your taste. Just a suggestion.

i use the dimarzio "tonezone" in my charvel koa SDI and in the mahagoni with alder top SD III. it´s a very good sounding pu.
i use the emg 81 in my ZWlespaul and i think, that the active ones kill the tone of the guitar!

i would prefer passive dimarzio pus.
visit the dimarzio homepage and klick on "pickups" then on "humbuckers". think about what you miss in the sound of yours, or what you don´t like and then watch the diagrams of the HBs you find there. this is a good way, to find out what PU you need.

I am a huge beleiver in the EMG 85. I have them in the bridge of 2 of my guitars and have had 81s in the same guitars, I haven`t liked the 81 in anything, kindas sterile to me with no low end balls. I think the 85 is the totally opposite of the 81, it has a mix of all the sounds of a great pickup. I will never use an 81 again. I also love the Rio Grande BBQ Bucker in the bridge and the JB in certain guaitrs. I don`t use middle or neck pickups. Jack.

I personally think the stock Tone Zone bridge pickup is AWESOME in the 3120--that's what I have.
