• APC pickups

i just got an APC pursuader lead pup.

THIS IS THE BEST PICKUP I'VE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i put this in an old ibanez roadstar II that i had our very own Budman cut the new pickguard for as well as the pickup ring. (thanks so much man, you did a great job - i did fuck it up a bit when i was cutting the shielding off the back with a razor knif, though... oh well.) the body is basswood.

man, this pup is so clean, yet so heavy and sweet sounding, everything cuts through like it does in your head (not amp ).
i can't beleive how far superior it is to every other pickup , that i've heard, out there right now. i know any of you who do have one of these will agree with me. i'm so excited about this pup.
i wish that i had gotten it for one of my guitars instead of my brother's that i was fixing up for him as a late birthday and christmas present.
this pup is very sensitive and can do different sounds based on how close you adjust it to the strings. if you want to get that nu-metal sound - just put it real close to the strings. it will bogle your mind. if you want more 80's sound, back it off a bit. i have his set closer than i would a passive but not as close as i would an emg.
its just incrediblt how good and saturated with sustain, yet noiseless and super clean at the same time. and don't let the super clean statement fool you, this is still a distortion class pup. all you high output pup lovers will drool over the sound of this pup. even you medium output pup lovers will find that by lowering the pup you can get that sound but even better, cleaner, better sustain, more attack, yet smoother at the same time. this pickup is truely remarkable.

they have a full line of both hums and single coils. this is the only one i have heard so far. the Persuader Lead.

their website doesn't offer much, www.adderplus.com
i recomend calling them, just ask about there pickups and the guy will be more than happy to tell you all about them... and then some.

their numer is 847-759-8200, i think the guy's name is Mel, but i've never had anyone else answer there.

seriously, once you've heard one of these, it will change the way you look at all other pickups.

I have been seriously considering trying these babies out in my DK1 lately.

What did one pickup run you?

i've been dying to give these a try myself, but i need to sell my old pickups first, lol, anyone wanna buy an 81/85 combo? seriously though, i think it would be really cool if someone could post some audio clips with the same gear except different pups

Hey Rebel,I heard these pups are a little tall, did you have to do any routing at all?I read here someone had to route 1/4"deeper on a SL2h because the pup sat too close to the strings.Thanks.

Re: APC pickups

i guess that would depend on the guitar. the roadstar II is a Strat based design and had plenty of room for it.

i would say that its like and old EMG. you remember how the old ones were a little taller?

anyway. just give them a call for a price quote.
