  • Randall MTS amps

Anyone tried these? Opinions please. I think
this is what a modeling amp should be if they
truly copy the circuitry of the amp they are
    copying.

    Re: Randall MTS amps

This technology was originally designed by Bruce Egnater http://www.egnater.com/

He licensed the design to Randall, as he did with some of his previous units with Rocktron. He worked with them for a while getting everything set up for them to produce them.

I've got the Egnater M4 preamp with 4 of the modules loaded. I've tried the Randall modules, as well as the Randall heads with the modules, and they seem somewhat thinner and weaker to my ears, to be honest. The downside of the actual Egnater units is, they are a bit more expensive.

Thanks for your input Stu. I looked at the Egnater stuff and it is quite a bit more money.
It is my understanding that Egnater modules &
the Randall modules can be used in each others
      preamps & amps.
