Kingnote, do you mean root note? And what in the
Zugspitze is a flageolette?

ok how should i describe it inmy bad english
flags: (my dictionary say in english it´s ecactly "flageolet")
the things you tune your guitar with, it´s when you lay the finger very light on the string (left hand) an pick it normally (right hand) so that there comes an overtone
kingnotes:
when you press the string down normally (left hand) and "press-pick" it with the pick an your thumb (right hand) so that comes an overtone.
Understandable for right handed guitarists?

i am guessing that you are talking about harmonics/pich harmonics?

i use to own a rh-100 and i really liked the amp.
i ran it thru a marshall 4x10 cab.
maybe if you turn up the gain that would help you.
i never had any problems getting harmonics with the rh-100.

the gain (gain2-american) is on 7, treble on 10 , mids are off, bass on 5, contour on 2
i´ve got no idea why it doesn´t work properly

I have no idea, other than maybe the Engl spoiled you forever.

If you can find another amp of the same model, and see if it exhibits the problem, then you'll know if something is wrong with your amp. It's kinda hard to diagnose problems that are of this nature than outright 'dead amps'.

Re: problems with kingnotes in solid state amp

thanks for your help
but finding another randall in germany could be quite difficult
i never saw any here before i bought mine
mabe you´re right i´m spoiled...
do your know the ritchie blackmore signature top of ENGL ? is it known for doing a great job on harmonics? or are tube amps generally more fit for harmonics?
seems now i got to decide:
loose the great harmonics of the ENGL or
loose the wall of sound of the randall that blasts everything away within a 3 mile zone
that really makes me sad

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">- in my experience at least the cheaper ones have so ... i don't played with a randall tho ... and how's the sound of that baby ?

Re: problems with kingnotes in solid state amp

mids won´t do any better
overall i don´t like mids very much i allways pull them out on my amps (because i´m not after a new metal sound...)
the randall is great for big chords and extremly precise in shredding things
and it delivers really a wall of sound with much punch

I thought all the 'new metal' bands WERE the ones taking out all the mids. Mids really are helpful when You are doing lead techniques like harmonics.

So use both, alternate and blend em together.I have an older Randall RG100ES solid state and a Mesa 20/20 thru a 2x12 GennzBenz. The Randall is thru its own 4x12 cab.The Randall is great for cleans and 80's distortion and the Mesa has a great tone of its own. They sound great when played together

ok
would be a cool idea
but first i can´t afford 2 amps and 2 cabs
and second i can´t transport them to the gigs
let´s got bangin´
first of all i´ll go for a new cab maybe the problem´s solved then
