I see that Behringer is coming out with a footpedal version of the V-Amp, called the X V-Amp.
I love my V-Amp Pro, but I'd like something more portable than my rack and 4x12 cab to take to practice sessions. I was thinking of a 2x12 enclosure, but then I'd still have to lug the rack. What do you think of this more portable, inexpensive, and modular, if somewhat revolutionary arrangement?
Behringer X V-Amp to powered Behringer PA speaker w/15" speaker & horn (you could get the JBL Eon, but the Behringer seems to offer more bang for the buck). You could add another for stereo separation if you wanted.
I think it would be great, though I'm a bit worried about what the horn would sound like.
Incidentally, I think that Genz Benz should offer their 2x12 with a solid state power amp in it for this type of arrangement.
P.S. I've tried the Tech 21 Power Engine, but it didn't cut it - kept making awful low end belching sounds.
