Effects Loop Dilemma

Hey guys. I'm having some trouble with my 5150. I bought an MXR 108 10-Band EQ and when I put it in the EQ, it works well and everything, but the amp doesn't exceed even 15W in power. What could be wrong? Please help.

How do you know it's only putting out 15w of power?

Also, when the MXR is in the loop, make sure the level and gain sliders are dead center. Don't raise or lower them.
