• Maxon\Ibanez

I have seen a few Maxon pedal lately and they look exactly like the Ibanez ones and they even have the same model #'s. What is the deal with this?

I also have decided to checki into an Ibanez Fl9 flanger as they are being reissued. I wanted an MXR, but they are just too expensive.

Can anyone give me some input on the Fl9, and I also see the Maxon Fl9, Are they made by the same Co. and if so , is there any difference in the sound? Thanks!

Maxon has a series of reiusses called the 9 series, which are replicas of the Ibanez 9 series pedals. They're true bypass and supposedly sound very killer. They ain't cheap either...I think they sell for $200 to almost $400. Ibanez just reissued the 9 series Chorus and Flanger for a lot less...like $129 each or something like that. I don't know if the Ibanez versions are true bypass...I'm guessing they're not because they don't come out and say it.

The Maxon stuff is carried by some online retailers. Shop around...prices vary a lot

THE NEW SERIES OF TUBE SCREAMERS ARE NOT MADE BY MAXON! Ibanez is having them made in Korea as of this year even though they still have the MIJ label on them. Up until late 2003 they were made by Maxon. I just got an Analogman Tube Screamer with the silver mod in it and it is incredible. On www.analogman.com it goes through all the different years and who made what... Go there and read up.

The Maxon pedals are awesome guys!!
Way better than the Ibanez equivalents!
The Maxon OD-808 "IS" the original TS-808 reissue!
I can't imagine the Ibanez TS-808 reissue sounding much better.
The Maxon CS-505 chorus is the best sounding chorus pedal I've ever heard!, the OD-9, the phaser and the delay sound great also!
