  • Pedalboards: What I've learned

So I've been researching pedalboards again and thought I'd share what I've found. I haven't seen many of these in person but thought y'all might be interested in some of this:

These guys make a flat board covered in stuff that velcro will adhere to. They also sell matching ATA flight cases and soft cases.

These guys make a killer board/case that I've seen in person. It's available in different sizes with and without an integrated power supply and patch bay. You can even fit some rack gear in their largest case. The power supply won't power 18 volt pedals but there's room for a powerstrip underneath the board. They site has PDF documentation that shows how the patch bay works. Very cool stuff. Hopefully I'll get one of these soon.

They make a flat pedalboard, covered in stuff velcro can adhere to. You can get a matching ABS case or ATA case. Some of the ATA cases can be ordered with wheels and a long handle as well. Another very cool thing is they sell new back plates for wah pedals that come with velcro already attached. You don't need the wah's rubber feet anymore. Cool idea.

Coffin Case pedalboard. I can't find much info about the specs and sizes on this. The Coffin Case site doesn't give any specs on it.

Nice, slightly angled board with matching case. Aluminum alloy construction.

I know Boss, SKB and Furman make boards. The ones I mentioned above are the ones that I feel not many people know about.

That true bypass strip from pedalboards.com looks cool. The NYC pedalboards seem reasonably priced. Decisions, decisions...

                Re: Pedalboards: What I\'ve learned

I had to mod mine. When I bought it it was 4' x 8' and I didn't have enough pedals to fill it up. So I cut it down to 18" x 24" and it is a bit better for my needs. I think I killed the value hacking it up though. The flat black spray paint didn't help.

Those flat pedal boards are too expensive @ www.pedalboard.com. If you search around eBay, you can find a couple of pedal board shops that have good quality boards for bidding.

Here's one on the bay now....

I bought the same board from this guy before.. Was a quick shipper too. Good quality board. Ill take a pic of it with all my pedals on it.

I got one of those rock case things from warwick with the power supply built in. I have had it for 6 months and never used it. It works great.

I got mine off ebay a couple years ago, a decent homemade thing someone wasn't using any more. It's pretty cool slanted board with a handle on it, two power strips bolted on the back, a couple little holes on the board for running wires underneath. http://img30.photobucket.com/albums/v91/Toejam/MM.jpg
