Boss effects....advice please~

There are few boss effects in a local auction...
$45 USD for both sd-2 (dual overdrive) and pw-2 (power driver)
$38 USD for OS-2 (overdrive/distortion)

they are in good condition...
Is that a good price? and what kind of sounds can i get from it...what style is it for..etc...

Those are all overdrives/distortions. They add gain to your guitar's signal, making the distortion thicker. Those prices sound about right. Overdrive is used for all kinds of music.
