Immortal - your best bet is to try out as many different amps as possible since your budget is as good as mine - 0.00€

Don't let the price discourage your choice in amps since you are going to be saving up for it anyways...

After you finally figured out what amp you want and have the money for it, you could see if it would worth it to from the states after shipping and VAT...

I agree with you that Europe is getting scammed on musical gear because we pay close to list price out here even though the Euro is stronger than the USD.

Re: Mesa Boogie

Sure, but there's a problem that no store in Slovenia doesn't have more quality stuff. Sure, Marshalls are very good amps, I say it, but there aren't just Marshalls on market. I can try a Marshall in almost any store, but looking for Mesa in shops would be a nonsense.

I can try Mesa in Austria, but this takes time for me to get there and try it.
Germany has some cool shops (Station Music) where you can find equipment at very low prices (e.g.: Fender JB bridge single-coil costs $39 there).
Almost everything is discounted. I wouldn't mind 100-200 USD price difference, since the shipping would cost me app. 100 USD for shipping Mesa to me, but I think 1000 USD makes a hude difference, since you get the same thing but in different part of the world.

My monthly income would be (from now on) $50 of clean money, that will always stay on bank (other money is not included, so the final sum on the end of the month could be app. 85-100 USD saved).
That means a lot for since I'm financially supported by my parents (19 years old and there's some study to take before I'll get working. I want a diseratation [dr.] or at least a diploma).

I want Mesa because I think it has balls, really. I know I can get a Framus which is also great, but hey, great names are more available for me, since no one knows Framus over here ( ).
Mesa is sort of a tabu. When you own it you mean to musical world something. It's not about the reputation, but it was always my dream to play an amp like Mesa. Something to fill my soul

Yes, prices differ very. For instance, a DXMG costs 650 USD really, but in Germany they're sold for 1000 USD, since USA DK2 is sold for 1200 USD.

Also, black market isn't very popular here and all of the things are smuggled from Germany. Prices are almost the some (a couple of tens less). Even though you wait for your stuff longer.

I think it's bullshit and that we should make a cheaper trade with oversea countries like USA.
Everywhere I look, only Fender, Ibanez, Gibson and Marshall. Almost nothing else.

Re: Mesa Boogie

Like someone else mentioned, check out the Mesa F series... F-30, F-50, F-100. I've got an F-30 combo and love it. It's got a great clean channel, great crunch channel, even a contour switch on the crunch channel to give it more gain and scoop the mids while boosting treble and bass. Separate reverbs for each channel is also a plus. It gets fairly close to a Recto sound, and the thing gets loud!!!! Check out www.mesaboogie.com and see all the different amps they've got.

I noticed that too a couple of minutes ago. That's nice, but anyway... for that price I can get Fender Hot Rod, which is less expensive for me and comes more quickly into my hands than Mesa.

But no, I'm looking at some solid amps (don't get me wrong, all amps from Mesa lineup are great, I cannot deny that), but anyway... I want something screaming, crying, solid as rock and loud enough to break windows and terrorize the neighbourhood with.

The Nomads and the F series do come in a cab/head setup.

Maybe you should go over the Mesa Website more thoroughly before taking the plunge, seeing as you are so enamored with them......

Yes, indeed they do come in head versions. I was just pointing out that I had a combo version of the F-30.
