i picked up a crate g-40c amp today for 50 bucks. sounds good with celestion speakers in it ( 2 tens). i think i got a good deal on it. anyone know anything about these amps? what they went for new,how old they are things like that.

I bought one new for $225 back around 1988. I think it was on sale. Sounded decent to me at the time. Needless to say, doesnt see much use these days.
Mine has issues. The Chorus doent work most of the time. The channel switching is screwed. I basically switches whenever it wants to. Its not worth enough to pay to get it fixed, if it can be. Mine collects dust in the closet 99% of the time.
