  • Point me in the right direction Please

I have a charvel 475 dlx exotic and I particularly like the Slash sound Jimmy Page Paul Kossoff etc I currently have a Peavey Rage amp which i know is very limited( also Pandora fx unit).I dont particularly want to spend money on a Les paul But I want to upgrade my amp.For home use only. I have read a little about modelling amps,Pods etc (do you need to put these through a computer?)any thoughts or positive direction warmly welcomed. I apologise that my questions may seem a little basic and naive but I am a relative novice ...Thanks
ps my budget is around £200-£250 Do I go go an fx unit or upgrade the amp??

if i were you i'd look into a line 6 flextone 1x12 combo. the original series goes for a good price on ebay.

(don't get rid of the peavey rage - its one of the best practice amps out there IMO)

I've said it a few times-Peavey rage amps are da bomb. If you sell it, you won't really get much for it-maybe 50-60 USD? ANd then you would miss it terribly. If you can use it to trade up to a better amp (ie/ get more money for it on a trade) you might consider a larger version-the peavey transtube series are nice little amps and built like tanks. They have a wide range of "tubey" types tones available from them.
