ampeg vh 140c - opinions ?

solid state - 140 watts ,
users :
dying fetus , incantation , suffocation , internal bleeding etc ( real brutal bands mostly)

anyone here played/owned that ? is it worth approx 400 bucks ?

it appears from time to time on the bay in that price(or v. similar)

i've read some opinions on h-central and that amps are supposed to be badass.

are those amps worth that price ?
or should i definitely leave solidstate ( ampeg vh / peavey xxl/ randall rh 200 ) and go all-tube ?

i'm thinking about one ( maybe ) ,
but the other mps i consider are mainly 5150 (v.1) ( btw , what's a good price for a 5150 ?)

I had one for about 3-4 months. But it was semi-broken so I sold it. It would work perfectly for maybe 20 minutes, then cut out, come back on for a bit, cut out, etc. I took it apart and found it was all rusty inside and some connections on the board had become unstable, etc. ANYWAYS, when it did work it had a great tone for death metal. A good amount of power, lots of gain, pretty tight bass. The clean channel was decent, useable but not that great.
It was capable of decent lead tones as well, but it really excelled at semi-scooped/fully-scooped death metal type tones.
