• Suggest a Delay

I have a Guyatone md3 that is superb. The delay time is adjustable up to 2.5 seconds. It is extremely quiet and doesn't color your sound in any way. It retails for about $100 and the best thing about it, its extremely small, so it won't take up much room on you pedal board.

I have a Boss DD3 and I love it.. I got it because it was cheaper than the DD6 and the DD6 has some useless functions imo

Line 6 delay modeler is good, lots of different delay models plus tap tempo. Boss digital delays are good also, DD-20, etc. I don't think analog delays gives you really long delay times, but there's alot of good analog delays like Maxon ad-900, ad-9, Electro harmonix Deluxe memory man.

cheers

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I agree. The other guitarist in my band has the DD5 and I thought the DD3 sounded much better. The ONLY little thing this pedal is lacking is remote tap ability which is really no biggie to me.

Suggest a Delay

hey..im looking for a nice delay to go with my 5150combo
i want to spice up my leads a bit but also want to create huge walls of noise (long delay time)
and i was looking at the Boss DD6, which has nice options and stuff and the Ibanez DE7, which is plastic..but really cheap...
how is the quality of these pedals? the Boss is almost twice the price of the Ibanez, does the ibanez suck a lot of tone?
if you have another good delay to suggest..shoot

thanks for the suggestions!
now i forgot to say that price is an issue.. therefor i wonder if the Ibanez is really that bad, the plastic case wont be a problem for me..
i'll try to look for a DD3..what would that cost aprox. in the netherlands?

i have a DE7. its not plastic, its solid metal. dummy

i like it. Ive tried a boss DD3 or DD5. i dont remember. I like the DE7 better honestly, plus its also got an echo setting and a cool yngwie type crazy sound you can do.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The DE7 is made of metal, like I mentioned. I didn't read your post clearly before and didn't take notice of the model number. I thought you were talking about the old Sound Tank pedals that were plastic.

I have a Peavey Stereo Effects Processor Pedal DEP 16 that I bought used for like 30 bucks. It is pretty awesome. Made of metal, small in size, and has chorus, flanger, reverb, and delay several options of each. Cool tones.

You didn't specify if you are looking for a stompbox or rackmount, but I think you're looking for a stomp.

If not, my preferred delay is still my Ibanez DM1000. The original rackmount digital delay. I've tried many newer ones of all types, but I always go back to my DM1000. You can get them pretty cheap if you can find them.

Re: Suggest a Delay

Or you could look into the Ibanez DE7 (Delay/Echo)Tone-Lok series pedals. They're made of metal with knobs that push down to save your settings. I had one of the CF7 (Chorus/Flanger) pedals and thought it was pretty neat. I returned it because I wasn't crazy about its sound, but it was a cool little pedal. Not sure how the DE7 sounds, though, but I've always wanted to try that out.

thanks guys...i'm sorry i mistake the DE7 for an older series, i remember seeing the whole Ibanez tonelok/tank series in a store and they were all plastic...
im hearing really good things about the DE7 so i guess i'll go with that one...thanks for all the input

I've been using a Boss DD-2 for 12+ years, and bought a DD-3 about five years back as a spare. Great pedals, truly able to take abuse, and sound fantastic.
