Re: EMG 707/81-7
I have the 707s in my guitars and they sound like a cross between the 81 and the 85. They have the warmth of the 85 and the bite of the 81 - it'd be great to get a six string version.
I believe that they use the same magnents as the 85 but I'm not certain.
Anyway, EMG does not sell them direct and as far as I've seen everywhere that sells them, sells them for about the same price. Since they are a custom shop piece from EMG, it's hard to find them in stock at most places. Jason out at DCGL used to stock them, but I don't know if he still does....that the play is the tragedy, "Man"

Guitar Parts Depot EMG pickups
This place has the 707's, and had the 81-7's , but they're out of stock now. You could try emailing them about the 81-7, as they are custom orders anyway.

Re: EMG 707/81-7
Well, the 81-7 only comes stock in the newer ESP LTD Stephen Carpenter 7's. If that's what you want, and you don't want to go new, your best bet is the ESP forum or eBay. Some of the ESP folks don't like the 81-7's, and are pulling them in favor of 707's and selling the stock pups.
Check it out, but DM is right, your BEST bet is to go new, it likely won't be an easy search.
