• cloth-wired boost pedal I built... :)

Check it out, the redboost! heheh...

Here are some of the funky features:

cloth wiring
socketed the 2 transformers (selected for tone)
hifi film capacitors
fulltone-style 3DPT switch for true bypass
Blue Keeley style LED
(psst, you can get these at Radio Shack)
And stunning perfboard construction

This one is being sent off to Fritz along with his power amp so he can check it out and tell me what he thinks. It's basically a clean boost from hell that does NOT affect the tone.

Pete, I could use one of those clean boosts. I have been spending much time lately on modding Dunlop Wahs experimenting with different value caps for the vocal mod. My latest creation is converting a Dunlop GCB100 bass wah to a guitar wah. I messed around with some resistor and cap changes and this particular one actually "talks". It is so vocal you would swear it is a talk box.
I think I am gonna start buying the GCB100's and the GCB95's and try all kinds of stuff. Let me know about the clean boost. I just bought a Soldano Astroverb and it might be a nice boost to have for it.

What do you mean by cloth wiring? Did you make these wires yourself?

Cool looking little pedal.

I just guess that you made a typo yes ? It should read transistors not transformers right ? If it's really transformers then congratulations on using a transformer so small you can't even see it

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Well not really, transformers do really make sense in eletronics, just not in this pedal when transistors were meant.
There are power transformers which transform voltages, say from 110V to 18V or something like that and there are signal transformers.
Popular transformers for guitar amps are hammond transformers and look like this:
