  • Tube Bias tool

I'm looking to put new tubes in my amp and I'm having a difficult time finding someone in my area to do the work so I thought I'd tackle this one myself. It really does not look too difficult and I can't see spending $40-$50 everytime I decide to switch tubes.

After looking around, I'm finding that I can purchase a tool that will make this process much faster. I've seen this one call the Bias King and another by Amp Head. Has any one used either of these or any other that would do the same job. Are these tools really that simple to use?

    thanks!

I purchased the bias tester kit from Amp Head, and it did the job. I used it on my 5150 after installing the bias mod circuit and replaced the tubes with 6L6 JJ's. Using the test kit is rather easy especially since it comes with very detailed instructions.
