Delay questions

I know that time based effects work best with an amp when placed in the effects loop. I have a Soldano Astroverb head and a Boss DD3 Digital Delay pedal. I am forced to put the pedal between my guitar and amp because the Astroverb does not have an effects loop. What I noticed is that I have to dial down the level on my DD3 to practically nothing because the slightest increase in level gives me entirely too much delay. The DD3 doesn't have a level control for balancing dry and wet signal. Are there any delay pedals that have this feature. I would like to have a nice heavy delay but I want it behind the dry signal.

The Line 6 DL4 has a mix control to blend the wet and dry signals together. It's a very cool feature!
