Ive seen it on the plexi mostly, but other amps as well- what is the cause for having more than one input?

Re: Amp inputs
Well generally you have the High Sensitivity and Low Sensitivity inputs, like on a 5150. High is more for guitars with single coil pickups, and Low is for humbuckers, at least that's what I've read. But these aren't hard fast rules-you can plug into either with whatever pickup you want to and let your ears be the judge.

Re: Amp inputs
Boxcar is right-if you plug into the first input, you will typically get a brighter tone, and more of a darker tone on the second input. However, when both are used-for instance, two people playing through one amp, the second input "voice" is bypassed. YOu can also use the second input as a low level output for recording if you don't have a jack for that, or run it two another amp to play through two amps without needing a cable splitter.
