I was reading over the post on building a tube amp and was chacking out the DOberman site. Since I have no use for another amp, i was wondering if anyone knew of a company that offers kits for building preamps or distortion pedals. I used to have the "electronic projects for musicians" book, which was pretty cool, but it was stolen. I also vaguely remember an article in Guitar Player about building a preamp ofr under 100 bucks. I'm just looking for a simple project that I can tinker with and not get killed by high voltage. I was thinking of maybe a simple preamp with a 12ax7 tube that I could switch out for 12at7 or 12au7 tubes to change tones and gain levels. Any suggestions?
