The new mesa came today and it kills! I just am unsure about the right speaker jacks i should be plugging my cab into. the dual rec has 3 different outputs, 4, 8, 16 ohms. My marshall 1960 cab 4 and 16 ohm inputs. Do i match up the same ohm rating on the head with the same ohm rating on the cab? Or would it be something different? Because ive gotten both answers before and im a bit confused. If theyre mismatched, could that cause more wear on the tubes?

    Re: Speaker inputs

Unless you know what you are messing with (tube impedance load, B+ and biasing), YOUR CAB ALLWAYS SHOULD MATCH YOUR AMP'S OUT IMPEDANCE & NEVER EVER POWER IT UP WITHOUT THAT LOAD PLUGGED IN.
Else you'll be taking the power stage of your amp out of the manufacturer's design parameters, wich in the wost case could damage it.

      Re: Speaker inputs

if your cab is 16 ohms and you are only running 1 cab, use the 16 ohm spk out on the boogie.

if you are running 2 of the same cabs (each rated 16ohms) then you want to run both cabs in 8ohm outs on the head.

      2 cabs = 1/2 the impedence.

so 2, 8ohm cabs would be run in 4 ohm outs.

is that marshall cab 16ohm mono, and 4ohm stereo?
the mesa is a mono head so just go 16 mono.

Also...does anyone know of any AFFORDABLE footswitches i can buy for my head? It didnt come with one, and im not going to throw down 120 whatever dollars for a new one from mesa. Any generic ones would do the trick i assume. Help me out?
