  • Solid State Power Amp Rig

hey, i'm trying to put together a rig for my singer who only plays geetar part of the time.......
i have a V-amp Pro, so i thinking about getting a solid state power amp

now, i remember hearing something about having problems with running a SS PA into a guitar cab because of impedance differences
the cabs i use are peavey sheffeilds that are 16ohm MONO and 8ohm Stereo (there is a switch on the back)

now i am guessing i am OK because i can just switch the cab to stereo (8ohm)

also, how does the wattage rating on PA's compare to guitar amps.....rated the same, or different

    thanx

Why don't you get a Tubeworks Mosvalve solid state power amp for your guitar setup? These were guitar oriented (Jerry used them!!!) and would probably work better than using a PA power amp.

The Tubeworks would be a good choice. If you can find one another good choice are the old ADA Microtube amps (solid state with a 12AX7 in front to warm the sound up a bit) - I had one years ago and recently got another.
