It is a short name for "Capacitor". It's a do-dad that controls current and such. If you ever find a tube amp that sounds like ****, buy it and replace the Caps. They get old and leak and become ineffective. (Kinda like me [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]") But you can replace them. I still say its a 60 cycle hum and the part that eliminates that frequency is shot.
