I had the PA2 in my dinky. It just makes to much noise to justify using it.I had the trim pot turned down and it got to the point where you could barely even notice the boost.
I'd go 81b 85n. Thats what I have and I like the sound. I play mostly the bridge pickup and the 81 is a better pickup(for me) so it makes sense to me to use that combo. I don't play clean so the 60 is useless to me.
hmm, so the 60 gives a decent clean? that's nice to hear, because I wanted to know that , cause I do use clean sounds.

Yes, the 60 does give a nice clean sound, but it works very well distorted, too, especially in the neck. I've never tried one in the bridge position, but I think it may be too bright there, as that's EMG's brightest pickup. I feel all EMGs work well for clean as well as distorted, though. For an example of the 60 with some distortion, listen to James Heftield's solo in Nothing Else Matters. The 60 is his neck pup of choice.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
well, that's at the very least nice. I know the 81 and the 85, but I was not really familiar with the 60, so I was pretty curious, especially how it sounds in my (yet to arrive) 750xl
i personnaly don't care much for the 85 in the neck. its a great bridge pup though. if you're wanting the 81/85 combo - go 85b and 81n. you'll be glad. my model 3a has 85b/81n and my rhoads pro has the double 81.
