Is there any particular reason why all the 2x12 cabs I've seen w/16 ohm speakers are wired up for 8 ohms. I have a 16 ohm 4x12 and would like to add my 2x12 w/ 16 ohm speakers wired at 8 ohms (re-wire them for 16). I know that when measuring my 16 ohm cab, I actually register about 14 ohms on the DMM. Could I expect about the same w/ two speakers.....I'm to lazy to just try it, I'd rather borrow somebody elses knowledge before disassembly....thanks.

What is the Ohm rating on the speakers in the cabinet? Not the Cabinet but the speakers themselves. -

If you had two 8 Ohm you could do it. Here is a web site to check out, instead a writing it out. OHMS LAW
Use the Formulas. With two 16 Ohm Speakers it will either be 8 Ohm in Parallel or 32 Ohms in series.Comment
