What does it look like? Is it one of the new ones? I used to have a Supreme 160, when they first came out. It had a pretty good sound at first, but like most solid state amps, after a while it started to fatigue the ears, and give you a headache. I eventually traded it in on a Marshall Valvestate VS100, which I liked a lot better.

i have no experience with the old ones, but the newer models are really good. i like them better than the valvestates, and they are way superior to that newer avt crap. a good tube amp will blow them away, especially in terms of volume, dynamics, warmth, and sound at high volumes.......the usual stuff, you know.

cant beat it for the money, though

Neeed feedback eh? Just stand in front of the amp with the gain and volume cranked and hold your guitar up to it!

Seriously though, I'm not a big fan of how the Supreme's sound but they are very inexpensive. A local guy hear uses a Peavey Supreme with a GT-6 in front of it and gets some pretty rippin' tones out of it.

Assuming it's the current TransTube version, they are among the better solid state amps out there. I have a TransTube Special 212 combo, which is essentially the combo version of the Supreme, and the tone is good for a tube-emulating amp. I'd take the XXL head over the Supreme (XL?) for versatility, but if you can get a good deal, it should serve you well. The TransTube emulation does give you a pretty wide tonal variation.
